I Tried CBD For Anxiety and This Is What I Found

Many people in the UK suffer from anxiety disorders, in fact, it is estimated that 8 million people in the UK are suffering from anxiety at any one time. Therefore it's no surprise that people are seeking out alternative methods for treating this common condition.

With so many people looking to try CBD, coupled with a lack of information available, it can lead to many questions, such as should I take CBD for anxiety? What strength CBD for anxiety? Where can I buy CBD for Anxiety? What is the best way to consume CBD for Anxiety? And even, can doctors prescribe CBD for Anxiety?

Well with so many questions to answer, I thought I'd write this blog post to try and offer my own personal experiences as a way of guidance. So these are questions that I've had in the past, and in someways, with so many questions unanswered, it can lead to even more anxiety in itself! But when I tried CBD for anxiety, this is what I found:

Firstly, can doctors prescribe CBD for anxiety in the UK?

It's possible. Some private doctors in the UK can now prescribe CBD in the UK, however it is rare, and only usually prescribed when a doctor doesn't see any other solution. It is also (again very rarely) available via the NHS, however this is unlikely and a very lengthy process. So in short, yes it's possible but if you've already decided that you wish to try CBD in order to relive your anxiety then this probably isn't the easiest way to go about it.

What is the best way to consume CBD for anixety?

How to take CBD for anxiety is a big one. I get asked this question all the time, and it's a difficult one as there are so many different ways to feel the benefits of CBD ranging from CBD bath bombs and salts, to CBD gummy bears, to CBD oil, to calming CBD teas and then CBD vapes and e-liquid. There's also CBD products such as CBD skincare and muscle balms, however these are more beneficial to the anti-inflammatory benefits of CBD and whilst that's great, it's really not going to do much to help in the way of anxiety.

So, with most of these a little bit of common sense will guide you in the right direction. So the CBD bath bombs / salts will do wonders in helping you feel relaxed after an anxiety riddled day, it's not going to be too helpful if you feel a sudden case of anxiety during the middle of a telling off from your boss.

Most people will agree that the best way to consume CBD for anxiety in those moments right when you need it, is either by vaping CBD or with an oil under the tongue. The simple reason for this is because they are the products that enter the bloodstream the quickest and therefore offer their benefits the quickest. So if you're nervous about a big meeting in the next 10 minutes, then these will be your best bet! You can find a selection of oils here  and vapes/e-liquid here.

The CBD gummy bears are a really popular choice too... Not to mention pretty tasty! But with edibles, it's a much slower release as you have to wait for your body to digest them and it takes much longer to feel the effects. Personally, I like to keep a pot of these on my desk during the day and just have one now and then to keep me chilled during the day. They typically come in various strengths from 10mg to 25mg per gummy, so if you have a sweet tooth then maybe opt for a lower dose otherwise you'll quickly find yourself going over the recommended daily allowance.

Where can I buy CBD for Anxiety?

This one is quite important as you don't want to get it wrong. It's a known fact that there are many shops online and on the High street that sell misleading products. What I mean by that is that some stores sell CBD that either has no CBD at all, or a very different does to what it says on the label. Naturally when we have real life struggles like anxiety, the last thing we need are rogue traders to make life even harder. Sadly they are out there. The key to this is asking for lab reports for the product that you are intending to purchase, as this will give you the exact detail of what is on the label is actually what's in the product. If a retailer is hesitant or refuses to provide this, then that's a big flag and I would avoid. Here at Associated CBD we make sure that this is something that is readily available for out customers at all times. We're keen to make sure we stick to the very highest of standards so our customers know they can shop with piece of mind. However, wherever you decide to shop, keep an eye out for this and it should be a sign that you're in safe hands!

FAQs

What CBD oils are best for anxiety?

This is a question which will depend very much on the user. We find just as many of our customers opting for a cbd isolate based oil as we do for those looking at full spectrum or even broad spectrum oils. It is very much a question that is best tested by each person to find which CBD oils work best for them. The common advantage to CBD full spectrum oils are in regards to the well known combination of CBD with other cannabinoids called the entourage effect. The combination of other cannabinoids with CBD are said to interact with one another to have a more profound impact. However on the flip side, we find many customers who want the purest form of CBD with no further cannabinoids and for these users a CBD isolate remains their best bet.

How much CBD oil should I take?

So this brings us full circle to the heading of the blog post. Well to be honest, ultimately it depends. If you are a new user, we would typically suggest trying a CBD isolate oil and going for a small dosage in the region of 10mgs. You can then build this up over the following days and weeks to test your tolerance and see how your body reacts up to a limit of 70mg. We always remind people that you can dose far higher than this, and there are studies that have supported its safety profile as high as 1500mg per day, but we would certainly not suggest anyone to do that!

I’ve taken CBD in small doses before but now I want to try CBD for anxiety, so what do you suggest?

For a more seasoned CBD user, we might suggest trying a broad spectrum of full spectrum CBD oil but would still look to start small with a dosage in the 10-25mg category. This allows any user to build up overtime and to really test how the CBD interacts with your body and if it really aids your sleep.

Can I take CBD everyday?

Yes, you can take CBD everyday and in fact building up CBD in your system overtime can give some of the greatest benefits as opposed to one-off dosages.

Which CBD Oil is best?

We like to think variety is an important factor, and that is one reason at Associated CBD we try to hold a wide variety of CBD strengths, types and products! There is no best CBD out there, it is about what works best for you and your body.

Are there studies that can support CBD helping with anxiety?

Yes, there are plenty of studies that support CBD having effects on anxiety and many of our customers have left positive reviews for how it has supported them in this way. Some of our  blogs look in more detail at these studies.

Is CBD oil safe?

Yes, it is perfectly safe and legal to consume and all our products have a legal limit of THC below 0.2% and lab reports are available for all our CBD products.

Will CBD get me high?

No, CBD will not get you high as CBD is not the psychoactive element of Cannabis Sativa group of plants that gives the “high”. This is the THC element and all our CBD products for pain relief contain less than 0.2% THC as legally permitted in the UK.
